Glorious news for fans of the Arcade days and retro gaming ports as Richard Langford of Langford Productions has informed us of the release of his modern Hunchback retro remake for the PC called, ' The Hunch Refurbished'. Originally developed by Century Electronics in 1983 and ported to other systems such as the Amstrad by Ocean, you once again play as Quasimodo and must rescue Esmerelda, while swinging over pits, the moat, avoiding arrows, fireballs and soldiers or you will fall off the walls!
Here's the latest about this hunched up remaster from Langford Productions! "A remake of my game "The Hunch", which itself was an expanded remake of the arcade game "Hunchback". Re-written from the ground upremoving the 'cross-hatch' pixel style used before, enhanced graphics, controller support, switchable scanlines and a save point after the first set of levels."

When I saw the picture the annoying music of the C64 version started to play in my head. And watching this video I was not disappointed that it got a new absolutely annoying soundtrack. I already love the game!
ReplyDeleteThis was a difficult game on the C64, I'm not sure if I ever managed to complete the game, but at least came very close to the end. This is not so good I think, should be better to port it to Amigas, gfx and music don't count in this type of game, rather playability, because the timing and jumping, and player reactions are very important to completing the game.
ReplyDeleteIt's very good!
