Strike Force Omega - Urban Chaos - A fast, top‑down arcade shooter for AGA Amigas by Reborn80 is in development

The last Amiga news story from me, unless something as good as Terra Cresta comes out. As I've just found out through Saberman that Reborn80 has made available the first version of a new Amiga game called 'Strike Force Omega'. A game that the developer describes as, "a fast, top‑down arcade shooter for AGA Amigas, inspired by iconic 80s and 90s titles like Commando, Mercs, Ikari Warriors, Chaos Engine and Smash TV". If this sounds like your sort of game, then come and check it out below the latest gameplay footage from Saber!

Here's the latest. "As an elite Omega operative, you fight through a city overrun by terroristic organization, clearing streets, breaking enemy lines, and surviving relentless waves of gunfire. Powered by the Scorpion engine, the game delivers handcrafted pixel art, original music, and intense firefights designed to push AGA machines while staying true to the spirit of the era."

Features:

  • Dynamic shooter in urban environment,
  • New approach to top-down shooter with active strafing,
  • 128 color graphics.
  • 3 great tracks by community legend - Simone "JMD" Bernacchia,
  • 3 levels full of actions (more to come with full release).

Minimal requirements:

  • AGA Amiga,
  • 2 MB of free Chip RAM,
  • 1 MB of free Fast RAM,
  • Optional accelerator.

  3. https://youtu.be/32TOeQ9XxoI?t=521 - 256 colours, just 1 meg of RAM, ZX Spectrum Next .. WASD + mouse "shooter". We are happy for every AMIGA game, but the hardware specs are often bloody high. I know .. Scorpion engine, not a "native" ASM game.

Pardon me if i may misunderstood (both games are looking cool), ASM is one thing, but a comparsion is missing things like:
      - Spectrum next can run on 28Mhz, 128! hardware sprites
      - Trees, grass, fences. A lot of enemy anims are only 4directional.

      - Amiga 1200(AGA) 14Mhz, 8 hardware sprites
      - In Strike Force Omega there is a lot of graphic detail (buildings, cars, the street, 8directional anim of the characters). You can go behind barrels and walls, street lamps...

Please ,don't misunderstand Vradarks Revenge is looking good, but the Spectrum next has a few HW advantage by default! It is a cool machine by the way.:)

Strike Force Omega is looking good! I just miss the road signs! No wonder there are so many broken cars lying around! :)

    2. For that Amiga game, a turbo card is "welcome", and more RAM too ... I'm talking about significantly exaggerated hardware specs... Of course, the Scorpion engine has some additional requirements... That ZX Next game will run just as well in 14 MHz mode.
