The Amiga’s competitive football scene looks to be receiving a significant visual boost with the upcoming demo of a new graphics fix and restyle for the Amiga Competition Version of Kick Off 2. Developed by KONEY-SCANLINES, the project—titled Kick Off 2 CV—is based on the robust Amiga KO2CV v1.37 framework and aims to unify the visual identity of the legendary franchise. While we don't when it's going to be released, provided below is the latest footage as well as some details.
The update introduces new custom and fixed design pitches, alongside restyled original pitches that breathe new life into the classic matchday experience. The players haven't been overlooked either. The game features restyled kits based on the iconic original designs, now featuring an improved kits colour palette for better clarity during high-speed gameplay.
Key Fixes and Enhancements
- Beyond the broad strokes, several long-standing visual quirks have been addressed to improve immersion:
- Player Skin Tone: The players' skin colour has been fixed for better consistency.
- GoalKeepers: Goalkeepers now sport distinct, corrected colours to stand out from the outfielders.
- The Ball: The ball colour has been adjusted to ensure it remains highly visible on all pitch types.
- This release represents a significant labour of love for the Kick Off 2 community, ensuring that the "Competition Version" remains the gold standard for Kick Off fans on the Amiga.
