Mute.ink has finally released Freestyle – Tales of Itch, an expansive new Commodore Amiga title built on Earok's popular Scorpion Engine. The game breathes new life into classic 1990s comic book properties, reimagining them as a massive platforming epic that spans more than 50 distinct levels. Taking an open-ended, "freestyle" approach to its design, the developer blended traditional retro gameplay with detailed hand-drawn visuals. Players will face a progressively steep challenge as the game transitions between multiple gameplay genres over the course of the campaign. Furthermore the game is driven by 24 hand-drawn comic pages, offering a tightly woven, gripping story crafted to keep players completely hooked for ages.
To keep the action feeling fresh, the campaign boasts a diverse cast that includes 51 unique enemy variants, 15 supporting cast members, and 8 hidden bonus characters. Furthermore, Tales of Itch features a delightfully absurd plot where a fingerless villain named Cactus, driven mad by his physical shortcoming, decides that true personal worth is measured solely by how much kitchen cutlery a person can bend, forcing a grumpy feline named Stupid Cat to reluctantly set off on a wild adventure to halt the silverware-warping madness.
REQUIREMENTS!
- Will run flawlessly on any Amiga ugraded with Pistorm/Furia etc (tested on A500, A600).
- Have also been able to test on A600 with 1mb/2mb chip RAM, 4mb fast RAM and while it does have some slowdown at times, it doesn't affect gameplay. Basically for the best enjoyment of the game you need RAM and possibly upgraded CPU's. BUT, AGA is not at all required! Hooray!
- Game also works well on Pi 4 400 but struggles on the A500mini. I have an A1200 preordered so I'll be able to test that on release.
- Everything except for the music - Mark Pursell
- Music provided by The Mod Archive (curt_cool)
- Freestyle and related characters (c) Mute.Ink (Mark Pursell) 2026
- Game Developed for Amiga using Scorpion Engine (thanks earok!)

Lovely work!
