Next Misifu - If you loved the 1980's classic of Alley Cat, you might like this ZX Spectrum Next version

It's time for some rather interesting ZX Spectrum Next news, as we have just been informed through Twitter that Jordi has released an overhauled version of his ZX Spectrum game 'Misifu Remeow'; a game that was previously released via the ZX-DEV MIA remake competition as a demake of the classic game 'Alley Cat'. For those of you who haven't heard of this game before, the original was released on the Atari 8bit in 1983 and MS-DOS in 1984 by Bill Williams and published by Synapse Software, and puts you in control of Freddy the Cat on a challenging mission to rescue his Cat love, Felicia.

This is an exciting new ZX Spectrum Next release with not only completely overhauled stages —including a brand-new, chaotic kitchen level, but also a redevelopment of every phase of the game. Built using the specialized z88dk compiler, the project finally realizes the creator's original "ER" design concepts, utilising the Next's upgraded memory and processing power to deliver the experience exactly as it was always meant to be played. The game drops you into the paws of Misifu on a mission to rescue a kidnapped friend named Fred from the 'dogad'. Your objective? Cause absolute feline chaos and wreck the rooms of a building owned by the bank that evicted your friends. Featuring stunning new visual upgrades by internationally renowned artist Jarlaxe, this playful nod to retro classics leaves players with just one pressing question: is it a clever Alley Cat demake, or a total "remeow"?
