Spelunky 64 - The rebirth of a hit game is now available for the Commodore 64!

Within the next half hour or so, if you head on over to the website linked below, you can check out the latest release of the Commodore 64 version of 'Spelunky' by Paul Koller and Mikkel Hastrup! A game that was not only released by Mossmouth for the PC in 2008-2013. But the game has a similar style to the platforming classic rick dangerous such as cave exploration, treasure-hunting and yes even nasty cave dwellers. Spelunky demade on the Pico-8 as 'Delunky'

The original Spelunky released in 2008 is an action/puzzle platform game, where you play as the Spelunker who must explore tombs and other locations looking for treasure, (and love!) avoiding traps, blowing up scenery and enemies while escaping with as much loot as possible. It was and still is such a great game that Johan Peitz released his own version as a demake for the Pico-8 called ' Delunky '.

Roving in the Dark - A charming cave exploration platformer by Hayo

Trawling through many of the games found on itch.io, there was every chance of finding a damn fine game that not only looked charming but had a high enjoyment factor that anyone in the family could pick up and play. Thankfully one such game called ' Roving in the Dark ' fit both of those categorises. As not only could it be described as a cute Spelunky, but the focus in this game is on the interaction with the cave system itself, meaning you are most likely to be killed by the same cave system you've just explored!

Another Paul Koller C64 port in the works plus brand new Psytronik releases

A little known fact about Christmas... Just as Santa is travelling around on his sleigh dishing out presents.. Paul Koller's elves were stalking the Earth installing extra ram and cpu clock speed into everyone's C64s while you're asleep.  There can't be any other reason Paul Kollers' infamous ports function on a 36 year old 8 bit microcomputer!  If you need proof just check out Super Bread Box, Micro Hexagon, C64nabalt and the recent phenomenal LuftrauserZ (RGCD).

XSpelunker - Spelunky inspired MSXdev'17 entry is rather nice indeed

We've put aside the Amstrad, the ZX Spectrum and even the NES as now it is time to mention a fabulous 7th entry for the MSXdev'17, it's ' XSpelunker ' developed by Santiago Ontañón (Brain Games). If you love the arcade exploration platformer of Spelunky, then you are in for a treat with this latest entry, as not only does it feature procedurally generated levels, but there's items to collect, platforms to jump across, vines to climb, and even nasty scorpions and piranhas that need to be either avoided or blown up or stabbed.

Rick Dangerous makes an appearance in Spelunky!

In 2013 Mossmouth, the developers of the original and great Spelunky,  released the HD remake of Spelunky on Steam and GOG on the PC. It was a game in very similar style to the platforming classic rick dangerous, but with cave exploration and treasure-hunting with all new graphics, music, new areas and much more that made Spelunky HD a fantastic game to play. So it was no wonder that this week, a Rick Dangerous mod was released for Spelunky, in which you can play as the legendary character Rick Dangerous, who appeared on the Amiga, Amstrad and many other famous retro systems.
