Metal Slug gets a beta port for the Sega Mega Drive and Atari STE

I can say for sure there's probably not many of you that haven't heard of 'Metal Slug', a game in a series of games that are well known in the community, going back to the days of the Neo Geo system. This game has plenty of humor, while remaining action packed throughout. In fact it was so much fun and still is, that a fan by the name of masteries had developed a Metal Slug port for the Atari STE and a new port for the Sega Mega Drive; an in development action blaster that runs at a rather smooth 50 frames per second with very few slowdowns!

The Mini Slug Project - A tribute to Metal Slug now available as an Amiga 68k version

Collect weapons and health from hostages, use vehicles and shoot the best guns at a constant wave of enemies including big bad bosses. In fact it was so much fun and still is, that a fan by the name of Clement Corde released a small tribute to the game as 'Mini Metal Slug' for a number of systems such as the Amiga OS4 in 2012. Which this week has been ported by Arti / ArtiGames for the Amiga 68k.

Inspired by shooters such as Gunstar Heroes, Metal Slug and Contra, Greedy Guns features cartoon like detail, deadly traps, 2 player co-op, a connected world and retro inspired gameplay.

Super Mario Fusion: Revival - Crazy retro inspirational platformer! (Recommended)

There's probably not one person out there that doesn't like Mario, as it's one of Nintendo's best selling franchises. So it would be crazy to turn it into anything other than Mario, but that's pretty much what CapnCoconuts and team has done with Super Mario Fusion : Revival. Made in Game Maker with a modified Hello Engine 4 , this crazy fusional platformer takes the best bits of Mario and mixes it up with settings and worlds outside of the Mario universe such as being able to use the Metal Slug SV-001 tank. Even though the game is currently incomplete (currently version 0.5), it certainly impressed us!

Metal Slug X - A classic favorite coming to Steam!

Ladies and Gentlemen let me introduce one of the finest arcade platformers you will ever play, it's Metal Slug X; an updated version of Metal Slug 2. Developed by SNK, this great retro classic features brilliant arcade graphics intermixed with addictive action shooting gameplay. What's more it's coming to Steam 2nd October! Play the original arcade mode, mission mode or team up in online play as you battle your way through waves of enemy soldiers using a multitude of collectible weaponry at your disposal.

Steven Verbeek of Crazy Monkey Studios was kind enough to let us know about their new game Guns, Gore & Cannoli, which is an action packed platform based shooter for the PC, Xbox One, PS4 & Wii U. A game based in the 1920's where by you not only have to deal with two feuding families but also the undead! Yet don't let that send you running off to mummy as the guy you play has plenty of arsenal at his disposal and he means business.

The level designs are brilliant and haven't lost their way through the entire series!

Empire Eden - Run N' Gun/ARPG - Kickstarter

An ambitious project by a trio called New Horizon Gaming LLC, consisting of a programmer, pixel artist and a map maker - Empire Eden - has recently begun to request funding via Kickstarter. The ARPG, Run n' gun blend of play and a large amount of naked pixel art are sure to appeal to the masses!
