Crash 2018 Annual - Kickstarter revival of the classic ZX Spectrum Crash magazine is launched!

From the same person who gave us some of the best retro gaming books we've seen for a good few years such as The Story of the Commodore 64 in Pixels, The Story of the Oliver Twins and The Story of the ZX Spectrum in Pixels, who we know as Chris Wilkens, has launched possibly the best kickstarter yet! The Crash 2018 Annual; A revival of the classic ZX Spectrum Crash magazine, wrapped up in the guise of a Christmas annual, with a brand new Oliver Frey Christmas cover!

Crash was an incredible gaming packed magazine dedicated to the ZX Spectrum, which was first launched in 1983 by Roger Kean, Oliver Frey and Franco Frey as a mail order software catalogue and then launched as a proper magazine in February 1984, published by Newsfield Publications Ltd and then by Europress. This new Kickstarter is set to take the speccy world by storm, as Crash is back as its very own annual as the 99th issue release since the final issue number 98 was actually last sold in 1992.

As we said before as a teaser to the now launched Kickstarter, this annual will be edited by Roger Kean, cover art by the amazing Oliver Frey, playing tips by Nick Roberts, an adventure trail by Stuart Williams, a Jetman comic strip by both Oliver Frey and Roger Kean, new adverts for the latest games in the homebrew scene will also be littered through the issue as well as being 112 pages in full colour for the very first time as a hardback with many reviews of the games from the last 20 years or so.

But that's not all, as veterans of the gaming industry will also be contributing such as Simon Butler, Jas Austin, (who is providing a developer diary of his Rex conversion for the ZX Spectrum Next), Steve Wetherill who will be doing the same for his Nodes Next game and Philip and Andrew Oliver who will be talking about the 'next' new Dizzy game that will be appearing on the Spectrum Next!

And that's just a taster of what is to come in the latest Crash 2018 Annual if it is a Kickstarter success, another incredible book by Chris Wilkens that is sure to grab you by the retro balls!
