Bomb Jack - C64 classic is getting an incredible overhaul!

We was originally going to save this for tomorrow but seeing as today has been really special for retro gaming releases, it's time to announce that Bomb Jack is getting a much better port than was originally released way back in 1986. According to the developer 'Retrofan', the original Atari XL version probably based on the C64 engine, had far better detail than what it should've been like on the C64. Also the fact that the arcade version was graphically superior with shiny metal sprites, smooth curves and much more, which was not so in the C64 original. However the great news is Retrofan is hard at work at turning the C64 Bomb Jack into what it should've been like when it first came out!

Also according to Retrofan the Sprites is the biggest problem that the C64 version only has 3 colors available, one of which also still have to share all the sprites, so only one can change (Translated text). But from what we've seen so far from these screen shots it's looking most impressive indeed, with the detail being far beyond what the original looked like. But there is a down side to all this, there is some way to go and as of yet we don't have a release date or further information to provide.

I personally can't wait to play once again as Jack the super hero, who can leap and glide, while disarming the 24 bombs that have been planted at famous tourist sites. It was an incredible game on the Amstrad so lets hope this C64 remaster lives up to the hype!

As is the case with all of our news, once we know more, we will let you know :)
