Genesis Project have also come into 2016 with a C64 release and this time they are showing off a new C64 title that was in development as a college project but abandoned long ago. Now thanks to GP - linked by Zyron, they've made it available as a very early preview. Classed as a GTW demonstration, this game is called ' Crow Boy Preview ' and is a side scrolling beat em up that involves a character than can run and kick with great accuracy.
There isn't much to say about the game play as to be honest it is in such an early state that all you can do is run from one side of the scrolling screen to another, while also kicking if needed. But what it does have is lovely background detail, smooth frame rates and a great soundtrack. It would've been brilliant if this game was actually finished with enemies to fight. However what really excelled in this release was the Techno Hedning intro by Mermaid and music by celtic design, it's one of those tunes you just want to turn up loud and with the best possible subwoofer!
Thankfully this early dev game is available to download today, so what are you waiting for?
