Although I am a massive fan of grid based dungeon crawlers, sometimes I like to put them aside and play games such as Skyrim or the much older kick and slasher 'Dark Messiah of Might and Magic', but there's one game shown off with new footage that caught my eye today that's very similar to those games, and that's Elderborn developed by Hyperstrange. If you like free movement, the slashing of enemies with weapons in hand, and the exploration of dungeons and caves then read on!
Featuring creepy enemies, dark atmospherics, tight corridors and nasty traps, the developers have said this game is a first person slasher that is focused on melee combat with each enemy having its own behaviour patterns, requiring the player to adapt their fighting technique. Furthermore The levels will have a lot of verticality, so the player will be able to solve every situation in a variety of ways; however, the enemies aren't the only dangers of this world, deadly traps and chasms await.
