Highway Encounter - 80's retro shooter comes over to the Atari XL/XE!


In 1985 Vortex Software released the puzzle shooting game ' Highway Encounter ' for the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, MSX and Commodore 64. It was voted in the top 100 ZX Spectrum games of all time and featured not just personal lives that look like Dalek's, but the use of these extra lives to push a bomb up a hazardous highway to the Alien base to blow it up. If you remember this game you'll be pleased to know Janusz "shanti77" Chabowski has released the Atari XL/XE port as a conversion from the ZX Spectrum.


According to the write up on Atari Online website, at this years edition of Silly Venture the game conversion from ZX Spectrum to Atari XL / XE: Highway Encounter took place . The author of the conversion, Janusz "shanti77" Chabowski, prepared the final version, which is characterized by the following elements: 3 Melodies of MichaƂ "Miker" Szpilowski were added, Corrected the bug related to the imposition of NMI / IRQ interrupts, which was manifested by the flashing of the bottom of the screen and finally cheats were added with the word "bosconian". The frame will become brighter, the passage of time will be stopped, but points will cease to be charged; You can turn off the cheat with the START + OPTION combination.

Requirements :
