Fantasy World Dizzy might be coming to the BBC Micro!

We've just come across a great news story especially if you have a BBC Micro, as we've been told through our Dizzy RetroGaming Facebook group, that 'Fantasy World Dizzy' might be coming to the BBC Micro by Jasper Renow Clarke. For those of you asking why this is a great news story. Well from what we know this classic adventure platformer by The Oliver Twins never came to the BBC Micro, only the Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari ST and DOS. So yes I'm very much excited to see how this progresses throughout the months or years ahead.

This is Fantasy World Dizzy, a very classic retro game from 1989 and released on multiple systems. This was the first Dizzy adventure to feature many additions which later became standard for the series, such as having three lives, an improved inventory system and a balance between puzzle-solving and hazards. This game also introduced the friendly Yolkfolk: Daisy, Denzil, Dozy, Dylan and Grand-Dizzy. Good old Grand-Dizzy was my favorite, usually found in his old chair.

  1. I never realised Dizzy wasn't released for the BBC Micro, in several interviews the Oliver Twins mention they used the BBC to write their games and then port them across to other systems..

  2. I love Dizzy. Really do. Retro lovers (that's us!) should check out Yolkfolk.com - hundreds of fan made games in the original style. Anything by Jamie Douglas is an absolute winner!
