Artillery Duel Deluxe - Another Scorched Earth clone for the Commodore 64

It was only just recently that we featured the Atari XL/XE game of Scorch; A game that has inspirations to other classics such as Scorched Tanks on the Amiga and the MS-DOS game Scorched Earth. Well here we are with another tank battling multiplayer game, as Saberman was kind enough to let us know earlier today, that you can now download the new release of 'Artillery Duel Deluxe'; A new Commodore 64 game which is based around the ColecoVision version from Xonox!

Artillery Duel Deluxe is one of many games in the genre of "turn-based artillery games". Such games are among the earliest computer games, with versions existing for mainframes with only teletype output. Scorched Earth, with a plethora of weapon types and power-ups, is considered the modern archetype of its format. Also all weapons are shown with tracers which allow the player to more accurately adjust the trajectory on their next turn!

  4. To be fair, Artillery Duel precedes Scorched Earth by 8 years so SE is technically an AD clone - or the next step in the evolution :)
