Cauldron II: The Pumpkin Strikes Back - A classic 8bit game has arrived on the Commodore Plus/4 by TCFS!

Ah "Cauldron", what a game that was, flying about the landscape on your broom shooting bats and jumping platforms while avoiding baddies. Hard to believe it was released all those years ago in 1985 for the ZX Spectrum, C64 and Amstrad CPC! But today we are going to feature something special for fans of that classic game and its sequel, as moments ago we've found out that TCFS has released the all time classic of 'Cauldron II' for the Commodore Plus/4. A game which you can see in the latest footage provided below.

Here's the latest from the plus/4 world page. "Happy halloween Plus/4 scene; and what better way to celebrate this spooky holiday than digging up some classic games that fit the theme. How about... Cauldron II? What? It doesn't exist for the Plus/4? Gosh, what a pity. Oh well, everyone go home, nothing to see here. Wait what?! TCFS actually converted this game to the Plus/4?! That changes everything!"

"This time the player takes on the role of Bouncey - what a fun name for a pumpkin - who does, in fact, bounce, constantly. Your quest is to guide him through Witch's castle (more than 120 screens!) to enact his revenge. There are six magical items - a Chalice, Axe, Shield, Crown, Scissors, and Book of Spells - scattered throughout, and Bouncey must collect them in order to complete the game. Avoid all the baddies - some of which Bouncey can shoot down, if he collects the "spark". It won't be easy! Fire up that old iron and load this game immediately! Happy halloween!"

Is it possible to have more details about how to convert the sprite and make it works on +/4, please?

  3. A truly difficult game, especially when trying to bounce just right onto the small window ledges, but a really great one once you get a gang of the controls. TAKE IT STEADY! Death comes swiftly if you rush!

  4. Does anyone know the title of an old game i remember playing on like a 286. It was monochrome with perspective path made of white squares. You moved side to side and forward into screen. There were enemies with giant oval tribal masks or shields. Not a great game just cant remember the name. Thanks
