Danger Dennis - Devlab/TSA and Virtual Dimension's single screen platformer is still coming to the Amiga and C64 [UPDATE]

At some point in the near future, Devlab/TSA and Virtual Dimensions are going to release the full version of their currently in development arcade single screen platformer of 'Danger Dennis' for the Commodore Amiga and C64. A game in which they have described as, a jump’n’run game that is loosely inspired by the gameplay mechanics of Mr. Robot and His Robot Factory. To coincide with this news provided below is the latest footage from the C64 version as a preview.

And here's the details. "Our hero Dennis bought popcorn and energy drinks for a gaming night with his pal Hagen. Unfortunately he slipped and dropped his purchase. A sudden gust of wind scattered the popcorn and drinks all over the city. "Great! What now? The evening is ruined without popcorn and energy drinks and Hagen is waiting for me. The shop has already closed Dennis thought dejected. "No way, nothing will ruin my gaming night!  I will pick up every single piece of popcorn even if its the last thing I do! "And so it begins....

  • "Danger Dennis. A wonderful platformer that is currently being developed by Dennis, aka ‘Hurrican’ from ‘Virtual Dimensions’ (https://www.virtualdimension.de/) on the Amiga. The friendly colleagues from ‘Devlab/TSA’ are currently taking care of the C=64 version. JustEpyx was allowed to test the game via his itch page. The current preview/tech demo contains 13 levels, the first of which are a tutorial to get you used to the game

Update : We've just been informed that the team behind the C64 version has released a downloadable preview which was shown at the Amiga 40 event.

  4. If it's about collecting "popcorn and energy drinks for a gaming night", then why does the title screen show hjim collecting a bunch of bombs? Why are there aliens and killer robots everywhere? Oh well, the game looks fun and the story doesn't need to make sense really, but it's funny to see them try and tie it together with a story. :)

  5. "Danger Dennis". A wonderful platformer that is currently being developed by Dennis, aka ‘Hurrican’ from ‘Virtual Dimensions’ (https://www.virtualdimension.de/) on the Amiga. The friendly colleagues from ‘Devlab/TSA’ are currently taking care of the C=64 version (https://justepyx.itch.io/dangerdennis), which I was allowed to test here. The current preview/tech demo contains 13 levels, the first of which are a tutorial to get you used to the game. The controls are direct and you quickly find your way around. There are still a few little hiccups here and there, but I'm sure they'll work themselves out :-). The graphics are marvellous and you immediately have the feeling of being in the right place and are right back in the 80s. I'm looking forward to the full version and a possible full-size box.

  6. I played the first few levels of the c64 version a few days ago and it's a cool game. I love how people are making games for the older systems.
