Another homebrew announcement has appeared in our inbox, is a new release by Amaweks called 'Telethugs' for the MSX. This game available for purchase as a full edition or downloadable demo right now. Is not only an Arcade run and gun game, but this game was originally created and published for PC by Pedro Paiva in 2019, with later ports to the ZX Spectrum and, more recently, the MSX by Amaweks. To coincide with this news, below is the latest gameplay footage by Saberman, as well as the full details of this new release.
And here's the latest. "Telethugs is a “run and gun” game originally created and published for PC by Pedro Paiva in 2019, now converted to MSX and ZX Spectrum by Amaweks. This is the first genuine result of our partnership on "Most Hated in Gaming", and it was also made as a tribute to Pedro's extensive work as a game developer".
The game is available in English or Portuguese, 50Hz or 60Hz, in disk or ROM format.
Improvements in the MSX version compared to the ZX:
- Twice the FPS
- More colorful and detailed backgrounds
- Sprites with more precise sprite movement
- PSG sound effects instead of beeper
- Jukebox screen to listen to each track separately
- In each stage you now control a different Telethug (player sprite colors change)
- Aiming up and jumping are now on separate commands (2 button joysticks).
