As checking my emails, there's been an update via Itch io that KD Software has released the fast-paced, competitive platform game for two players called 'Robo Gems'. A digital and cassette release that the creator says "Get ready for an intense retro challenge on your Commodore 64 — fast, colorful, and full of arcade energy!" 

Here's the details. "Robo Gems is a fast-paced, competitive platform game for two players, built for the Commodore 64. The goal is simple — collect more gems than your opponent before the timer runs out. But the arenas are full of hazards and power-ups that can turn the tide in seconds. In addition, each map features environmental slow zones — areas like water, bubbling lava, or poisonous fog — that slow you down only while you are inside them. Step out, and your speed is instantly restored. Every map combines these elements in unique ways, forcing you to adapt your tactics and outsmart your rival."
