Superstar Chefs - A fun for all the family Arcade game for the C64 by Donut80

If you visit Donut80's website you are sure to find some pretty decent games that are fun for all the family for the Commodore 64. Games such as Marshi N' Phoebe, The Last Pumpkin and Egg Feud. In fact, if you do check out some of the games mentioned, you'll come across a new game that was released by the same developer called 'Superstar Chefs'. A game that the creator says "you play solo or team up with a friend in full 2-player co-op, combining tight modern controls with classic arcade energy."

Here's the latest. "The secret recipes have been stolen and scattered all across Cocktail Land. Help the Superstar Chefs recover them in a vibrant world filled with cartoon-style creatures, fruit, and hidden treasures. Each level offers a fresh location within Cocktail Land. Stomp on Wasps, Snails, Dragons, Ghosts, and Bats to release pickups, and gather every piece of fruit to unlock the golden key that opens the way forward. Every stage also hides a secret recipe. The more you uncover, the higher your final rank when the adventure is complete. Grab a super pickup to activate a magic shield that protects you and knocks out hazards for a short burst of chaos."

  3. This game is great fun, especially with a friend. Try and grab a friend and play it if you can. This is true for all Donut80 games.

And yeah they are all cool, I wonder at the pace of these getting released. Does the author have some toolkit or engine framework to make these? I mean not only are they very polished but getting put out very quickly.

    Good stuff!

    1. I think they mentioned somewhere that they have developed their own scripting to make this. I'm curious how it looks like.

  4. This game is so much fun to play! A mixture between Bomb Jack and Bubble Bobble. The player mechanics are spot on. I love the wrapping from all side, and items infinitly falling on later levels. Graphics/music great. Yes it could be have some more difficutly/replayability, bonuses for 100% clearing levels, etc. But wow, a brilliant effort, and free!
