Homebrew developer natthrafn has released a game called Rust'n'Steel Reboot, the definitive and vastly upgraded version of their classic platformer that started its life way back in 2009. In Rust'n'Steel Reboot, players are tasked with absolute structural chaos. To clear stages, you must paint every steel beam or rip the structural bolts directly out of the scaffolding to bring the entire rig crashing down. Standing in your way is a hazardous layer of green goo. Players can maximize their high scores by wiping the slime off the infrastructure and proving to the "head slime" who truly rules the arena.
The roots of this metallic retro platformer trace all the way back to its original coding in 2009. After receiving initial bug fixes in 2015 and a critical code cleanup in 2025, the title has officially received its ultimate overhaul. The newly launched Reboot completely transforms the original experience, introducing butter-smooth character movement and a polished gameplay loop that makes it the finest version of the game to date.
