Sky Shapers (Amiga) - A vertical scrolling SHMUP from Norwegian developers Digilicious Nibbles with a new v1.1 update!

Welcome to the latest game update of Sky Shapers. An engaging 50 FPS vertical SHMUP developed for AGA Amiga computers by Norway’s Digilicious Nibbles, featuring hand-crafted graphics, three levels, and 37 enemy types. The title offers compelling boss fights, weapon upgrades, and two layers of parallax scrolling, which helped it secure an 88% review score in Amiga Addict magazine. More details are available on the Amiga Addict website. To coincide with this news, we've got the latest gameplay footage, and further information about the update.

A catastrophic Mars mission accidentally brought a lethal virus back to Earth, completely wiping out the world's insect population. To prevent global starvation, humanity built advanced pollination drones called Sky Shapers. The plan backfired when the virus rapidly mutated, infecting the drones and turning them against mankind. In a desperate race against time, a scientist successfully engineered a poison to neutralize the virus. Tragically, starvation took his life before he could deploy it. With his final breaths, he trained his pet hawk, Tycho, to carry out the mission. You are Tycho, the very last living creature on Earth. Armed with the scientist's cure, you must fly into battle, locate the planet's final seed vault, and restore life to Earth before it becomes as barren and dead as Mars.

[UPDATE]  The team behind the game have released a huge update to their popular Shoot 'em up called Sky Shapers with the following being said. "With this update we have addressed the most vocal and fair criticism of Sky Shapers. In order to make the enemies and bullets to stand out more given the palette we have to work with, Mr Possible have reworked the graphics to add a black outline to the sprites. We also updated and added support for more colours to hardware sprites, so now all bullets have an individual distinct colour that stands out from the background. In addition to the effort to make sprites easier to see, we have changed sprite priorities so the laser will never obscure the bullets."

"We would also like to highlight changes to the collision detection for enemies against Tycho, now it is the same as against bullets making it more forgiving as enemies can pass through the tip of the fully extended wings without player damage. We hope these changes will make the game more fair and fun to play! Moreover there are some changes to a few attack waves, general bug fixes and fixes to graphical corruption between loading screens, see the changelog via website for a full list. Go fire that BFL again!!"
