EyedBall - A charming yet challenging game for the C64 by LC-Games

LC-Games—the talent behind unofficial ports such as H.E.R.O. Is Back, Lock'n'Chase, and Dig Dug—has launched their latest title for the Commodore 64 as a charming yet tense puzzle-platformer titled EyedBall. The game thrusts players into a rescue mission after the wicked villain Horloth raids a once-peaceful land, kidnapping its carefree inhabitants. Imprisoned deep within a dark fortress, these poor creatures are being drained of their life force, transformed into beating hearts to power Horloth’s grim kingdom. As the titular hero, players must infiltrate the dark lord's stronghold to save their comrades from this horrific fate.

The gameplay challenges players to navigate 45 distinct rooms, controlling Eyedball as he drops down from platform to platform while dodging spooky enemies and dangerous hazards. Because our hero lacks any traditional weapons, players must rely on a clever magical ability that allows Eyedball to rotate his entire surroundings, unlocking paths that would otherwise be completely out of reach. Each level requires you to gather all the transformed hearts and make it to the exit before the strict time limit runs out, occasionally using teleporters to blink across the screen. To help you survive the gauntlet, high scorers will earn an extra life at 20,000 points, and another bonus life for every 30,000 points scored after that.
