Time for some Amstrad fun, as developer Kirby2000 has released a new fan conversion of the classic 1990 Game Boy title, Bubble Ghost, for the Amstrad CPC 6128. Stepping into the shoes of a helpful spirit, players are tasked with navigating a delicate soap bubble through 35 treacherous chambers of a haunted fortress. Because the ghost cannot make direct contact with the bubble, success depends entirely on carefully blowing it forward while snuffing out candles and navigating around hazards like spikes, moving fans, and rival phantoms before the level's bonus timer ticks away.
This meticulous adaptation completely replicates all 35 original stages, including every puzzle mechanism and the full ending sequence. Visually, the title honors its Game Boy heritage by pairing authentic Game Boy-style graphics with a custom themed screen frame, all preceded by a loading screen adapted from the original retail box art. On the technical side however, the game recreates the classic soundtrack and retro sound effects using the machine's internal AY audio chip. Whether booting from an original 3-inch floppy disk drive, a modern Gotek drive, or an M4 SD card adapter, the software loads into memory and never hits the disk again during gameplay.
