Gold Mine Run! - A rather decent WIP Amstrad CPC 128k game by Asic28

The last news story for this evening ( I need rest ), as Asic28 has released an exciting preview of Gold Mine Run!, a promising new title developed for the Amstrad CPC 6128. Coded with a mix of C and Z80 assembly, this project tasks players with exploring pitch-black underground tunnels. The core objective is simple yet stressful: clear each cavern of its gold bags while carefully managing resources. However, you are not alone down there. Skeletons, bats, aggressive snakes, and renegade old miners actively patrol the depths, adding constant danger to your treasure hunt.

What sets the gameplay apart is its central light mechanic—a shrinking halo of illumination that acts as a strict, ticking time limit. If your torch completely burns out, the terrifying Time Monster arrives to end your run, forcing you to move efficiently or hunt down extra torches, pickaxes, and keys to navigate locked doors. This initial release serves as a shareware demo, offering a 5-stage look at the game's first world across three difficulty settings—Easy, Normal, and a brutal Hardcore mode that demands you memorize layouts before the darkness completely closes in. Supported by an overscan title screen, custom music, and rich sound effects, the final version is slated to feature 6 unique worlds spanning 30 action-packed stages.
