TOKI - A classic platformer is getting faithful Arcade conversions via Amiga AGA, Mega Drive and NEO GEO

New Old Pixels has officially confirmed that three licensed ports of the original 1980's Toki arcade game are currently in active development for the SEGA Mega Drive, SNK Neo Geo, and Commodore Amiga AGA. Holding an exclusive license to adapt and promote the beloved title across these systems, the publisher is continuing its core mission: delivering authentic and faithful arcade conversions to classic consoles and computers, that the team says never received a *true* Arcade conversion.

A very decent version for the Amiga by Ocean in 1990

The primary objective for these new editions is absolute fidelity, with the development team working to preserve the exact gameplay, crisp graphics, fluid animations, and iconic soundtrack of the arcade cabinet. At the same time, each version is being tailored to maximize the unique technical capabilities of its respective hardware. To ensure the ultimate nostalgic experience, all three ports will be released as complete physical editions designed to run seamlessly on these original retro systems.

Great care is being directed toward the overall presentation, with New Old Pixels promising high-quality conversions alongside collector-grade packaging worthy of the arcade masterpiece. While release timelines are still unfolding, retro gamers and avid collectors can expect upcoming deep dives into production progress. The studio will soon share the first official screenshots, gameplay videos, and pre-order details for the physical editions. So it will be interesting to see how these versions differ from the originals that were already pretty decent for both the Amiga and Mega Drive!
