A game in which you shoot down enemy planes, avoided being shot out of the sky and performed awesome rolls while collecting power ups. It was an awesome game and still is today, but thanks to DarkGiver and his Blitz Basic Game Jam entry, we have a brand new Arcade Shoote 'em up for the Amiga that is inspired by 1942/3 called 'ACE Battle Over The Sea'. In light of this news, Saberman has done a new gameplay video of the game which as ever is viewable below.

It was an awesome game and still is today, but the news of right now is thanks to a heads up in our email, we've been told Playsoft has released the Arcade game of 1942 for the Atari 7800, and yes it's bloody good too!

A game in which you not only had to shoot down enemy planes including bombers, but you could also perform awesome rolls while collecting power ups. Thankfully this game which was one of the highlights of that era, is still coming to the Amiga. As thanks to a heads up from Saberman, we have been told Agermose is still working on his full Arcade to Amiga conversion of....1942!

Well if you remember this fine game ( I know I do! ), you may be interested to know that Al Nafuur has not only released a work in progress demake of the game for the Atari 2600 developed in Batari Basic, but it looks mighty impressive indeed!

As thanks to a heads up from a good friend of ours, we are 100% sure that Agermose is working on a full Arcade conversion using a number of tools such as Assembly, MAME and UAE. (We did the first feature in 2019 but we needed to be sure it was still being developed)

194-8 - Arcade inspired shoot em up available for the Pico-8!
Some more Pico-8 news today and one that is closely inspired by the shoot em up '1942' by Capcom released in 1984, is the latest version 1.0 of 194-8 by LeDjinn for the Pico-8 and your PC playable in a browser. In this game you pilot a green plane with a gun and a powerful beam weapon, that has to destroy many waves of enemies to reach and destroy the end boss for a level completion. Just be careful as not only will your weapon need recharging, but touching any enemies will cause you to lose a life.
Sopwiths and Pterrordons – Homebrew shoot em up for the C64!
Thanks to a mention from the brilliant commodore is awesome, you can now play Sopwiths and Pterrordons; an excellent shoot em up for your C64 by Anthony Stiller. Developed in that classic 8-bit style and using the shoot em up construction kit (SEUCK), you'll be shooting dinosaurs using a WW1 plane in a very similar theme to that of 1942 and 1943.

It's Knights of the Air, a top down 2D/3D shoot em up set into the first world war.
