WinUAE 6.0.0 - The latest Amiga emulator release, and it's HUGE!

After many months of beta updates with a ton of fixes and improvements, today is the day that Toni Wilen has released a brand new WinUAE 6.0.0. This is probably the best version of the Amiga emulator so far, as it features not just custom chipset emulation (Agnus/Alice and Denise/Lisa) almost completely rewritten, but Denise/Lisa emulation is now running in separate thread for large performance increases, as well as improvements for owners of the CD32! I highly recommend everyone who has the previous version of WinUAE to update, especially if you like playing great Amiga games on your PC with better support.

For those of you who have followed Indie Retro News throughout the years, you have probably noticed that we mainly feature retro games and PC(Windows) based news. PlayStation Classic 128GB Retro Console bonanza!

As someone who has an XBOX original stuffed full of awesome retro games, and an unbuilt Pi that I couldn't be bothered with, I was very excited today to hear form Aaron White that ArcadePunks has launched the big 128GB build for the PlayStation Classic. This little mini console based around the original Playstation, except with a poor game choice, subpar emulation, poor image quality, lack of enhancements and PAL. Can now be enjoyed to the max with a massive amount of supported emulation and a ton of games!

WinUAE 4.2.1 - A small bug fix release for a great Amiga emulator

Just as I was going to bed I got a nice heads up from Vincent GR, that Toni Wilen had released a new Amiga Emulator update of ' WinUAE 4.2.1'. Now for those of you who do want to know... This isn't a big feature update compared to the previous announcement of 4.2.0, but does feature a number of bug fixes such as graphics corruption and Picasso IV and uaegfx YUV (video) overlay, which makes this a recommend version to one of the best Amiga emulators available!

Great news today for all you RetroArch users, as we've been contacted by Gaming Legends, that RetroArch 1.7.6 has been released! RetroArch is a frontend for emulators, game engines and media players and enables you to play classic games on a wide range of systems such as the NES and SNES mini with features such as shaders, netplay, rewinding, next-frame response times, and more!

iGame v2 - A well known Amiga game launcher gets a new public beta

If you have an Amiga with an internal CF drive or any other way of playing whdload games such as through Emulation like WinUAE, then this may be the software update that your Amiga thanks you for. Although there are other OS utilities to play Amiga games such as AG-launch and X-Bench, iGame was one of the most practical of game launchers during any CF install. So if you remember it, especially if you've installed ClassicWB, then you'll be pleased to know iGame has reached version 2 and it's the first public beta!

In June of this year Toni Wilen announced through the EAB forums the latest version of his Amiga Emulator had reached a new build of ' WinUAE 4.0.0 ' ,which featured a number of updates such as Beam Racing Lagless VSync, Virtual multi monitor support and much much more. WinUAE 4.0.0 beta - The first beta of a brand new Amiga emulator branch is announced

Yet again after lots of beta updates and the final of 3.6.0 in Jan and 3.6.1 in March, we have just been informed through one of our friends that Toni Wilen has launched a new beta branch for WinUAE version 4.0.0 with the release of Beta 1. This Amiga emulator has gone through many stages of development through the years and as always Toni Wilen always finds the time to either fix these bugs or add new features. 3DNes V2 - A rather cool emulator that lets you play NES games in 3D hits version 2!

Great news this afternoon as Geod has released the latest version of his very special emulator which allows you to play many NES games completely in 3D, 3DNes V2! This rather cool piece of software that's available for the PC allows you to run true 3D graphics for old flat CRT screen NES games which can be played in any resolution, with customization graphics and full mono or stereo sound! What a brilliant Emulator, which really shines with a 3D graphical Mario, Castlevania or even Megaman!

Yet again after lots of beta updates and soon after 3.6.0 was released in Jan, we have just been told by by Guitar Anthony that Toni Wilen has released a brand new WinUAE version 3.6.1, much to the excitement of the Amiga community. Many of us thought that 3.6.0 would be enough to keep us going through the entire year, but not so, as with 3.6.1 comes new fixes, features and expansions! Basically another great edition for the best version of the Amiga emulator!
