Golden Axe Tyris Flare Edition - A graphical replacement hack available for the Sega Master System

In 1989 Sega released the incredible side scrolling, beat 'em up, hack and slash fighter for the Arcades and for the Mega Drive/Genesis. It involved lots of weapon swiping against enemies and big bosses, riding mythical beasts, different levels, picking up potions, calling forth great power and giving the player the choice of a multitude of different characters. It just had to be the amazing ' Golden Axe '; a game which was also ported to other home systems such as DOS, Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad, C64, SMS, and ZX Spectrum.

WE ARE DEMO C64 - One of the finest C64 scene demo's and it's available now!

Last night I was watching the latest Amiga intro's from creators around the world being shown at the Revision 2016 demo party. This is a place that features lots of competitions, events, music acts, seminar's and much more that makes it the place to be to see some of the most jaw dropping creations, such as this one from Fairlight, Noice and Offence. The name of this brilliant piece of work, is none other than ' WE ARE DEMO ' for the C64. A double disk of cool effects, smooth scrolling, brilliant artwork and one of the best C64 soundtracks I've heard for many years!

The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim - The ultimate graphics and mod tutorial!

Something different for a new weekend and one I thought I'd never be mentioning on Indie Retro News, is a Skyrim mod install guide. Now yes I know Skyrim is an AAA title, so that's against what this site is about, but mods themselves are pretty unique and are created from individual people flowing with their own ideas and creativity, something we support a lot. I mean hey I play Skyrim nearly every month, but the problem is finding the right mods to install, how to install them and dealing with any issues that will at some point crop up. When it all works, Skyrim looks beautiful and can give the wow factor, but finding the right guide to get to that point can be as bad as finding a needle in a haystack, at least until now. A person by the name of PredCaliber as done a near two hour Skyrim install guide, from graphical changes and overhauls such as an ENB right up to the ultimate Character mods. It is in fact, the definite guide and one we highly support!

Nvidia Geforce 320.18 WHQL Graphics Drivers

Nvidia has released the latest Nvidia GeForce 320.18 WHQL driver, which is a GeForce Game Ready driver for Metro: Last Light providing up to 10% faster performance and Microsoft WHQL certification. Although not strictly Indie/Retro related, you will need the latest drivers in most situations even if this one is for Metro.  However to note, I'd recommend avoiding this driver for the time being as it can suffer from the same issue as the previous 320.x beta drivers, with system freeze ups being reported.

Nvidia GeForce 310.90 WHQL Drivers

Nvidia has released the latest 310.90 WHQL drivers for a multitude of Nvidia based graphics cards. Although this is not an Indie/Retro game, you will need the latest graphics drivers for some titles, especially if they have any issues.

Nvidia GeForce 310.61 Beta Display Drivers

Although not strictly Indie/Retro related, you will need the latest drivers in most situations for games. Be warned these are not the WHQL Nvidia drivers but Beta's which means they may contain problems or be perfectly fine as is the way with Beta's.
