Could the Laser Disc version of Dragon's Lair be coming to the C64 or is this really JUST FOR FUN?
Now I remember Dragon's Lair very well, from the Amstrad version with the jumping of platforms or trying to stay on the spinning disk without being blown off, or the interactive animated version which appeared as a laserdisc in which you needed to press a specific direction at the right time to survive. Both were simply brilliant games, but what has surprised me today is Antonio Savona has shown the possibility of Dragons Lair Laserdisc working on the C64 albeit in Black and White.
Road Avenger - LaserDisc Racer as an Amiga release by ReImagine Games gets an update
Things are slowly getting back to normal on Indie Retro News after my earlier computer failure, as we are pleased to announce ReImagine Games via Earok on the EAB forums, has released an update to the LaserDisc game 'Road Avenger ' for the Commodore Amiga. This game was announced as a first for the Amiga last year, when prior to that it was both an Arcade LaserDisc game and later ported over to the Sega CD by the original team.
Road Avenger - LaserDisc Racer gets a special Amiga release by ReImagine Games!
It's wet outside and it doesn't look as if the sun will come out any time soon, so if like me you're stuck in doors, how about playing the latest Amiga release from our good friends ReImagine Games 'Road Avenger'. Now if you've followed our news you would've read that LaserDisc support was added to the Amiga emulator WinUAE some time ago, as generally LaserDisc games were played via an Arcade cabinet using Amiga 500 hardware, along with a genlock and a laserdisc player. So it stands to reason why many of these games are now appearing on the Amiga such as the more recent Time Gal.
Time Gal - LaserDisc Anime gets a special Amiga release by ReImagine Games!
It's a Friday and it's time to get ready for the weekend, but if going out and getting drunk isn't your thing, how about playing the latest Amiga release from our good friends ReImagine Games 'Time Gal'. Now if you've followed our news throughout last year you would've read that LaserDisc support was added to the Amiga emulator WinUAE, as generally LaserDisc games were played via an Arcade cabinet using Amiga 500 hardware, along with a genlock and a laserdisc player. And so it's with great pleasure to announce Taito's 1985 LaserDisc game Time Gal, which has been ported over to the Amiga CD32 and Amiga HDD with upcoming cover by Steve.
Dragon's Lair Laserdisc appears on the C64
2015 is turning out to be an incredible month for retro systems, as we've had the top quality Castlevania for ZX Spectrum, Dragons Lair Laserdisc on the ZX81 and Earok's Amiga CD32 release of Inherit the Earth. But lets go one step further and mention the latest C64 prototype of Don Bluth's laserdisc version for the C64, announced this week!
Dragon's Lair appears on the Sinclair ZX81!
Now I remember Dragon's Lair very well, from the Amstrad version with the jumping of platforms or trying to stay on the spinning disk without being blown off, or the interactive animated version which appeared as a laserdisc in which you needed to press a specific direction at the right time to survive. Both were simply brilliant games, but what has blown me away today is a ported Dragons Lair by ex-Ocean software coder Jim Bagley, demo'd on the ZX81!
