Brutal Pico Race - Another Pico-8 game comes over to the Amiga via BSzili [WIP]

Following on from our previous PICO-8 news story, as BSzili has began porting the rather enjoyable PICO-8 futurist racing game, Brutal Pico Race, over to the Commodore Amiga. Following the positive feedback of his previous fantasy console conversion, the space shooter Zepton, the talented coder has once again bridged the gap between modern retro restrictions and classic 16-bit hardware. Flat-Lane - Another fabulous racer released for the C64!

The Commodore 64 scene continues to prove that there is still plenty of life in this legendary machine. Retro homebrew developer youki06 has just released Flat Lane, a new racing title that serves as both a nostalgic tribute and a technical "experiment-turned-reality." For youki06, the project is deeply personal. His history with the C64 dates back to 1983, when he received the computer as an 11-year-old. Like many aspiring programmers of that era, he dreamed of creating a pseudo-3D racer in the vein of the arcade classic Pole Position. While he felt he lacked the technical prowess as a child, Flat Lane—his second complete game for the platform—finally brings that vision to fruition.

So you can probably see why I'm just that little bit excited, as a fan by the name of omenoid and ptitSeb, has released a new PC remake of the game. A new version that was originally sourced from D. Vernon and A. Copland's version released back in 2019
