In the late 80's, Geoff Crammond released the incredible game of ' Stunt Car Racer '. It involved you the player, racing around a 3D track in a first person view using a vehicle which had boost capabilities. It was also one of the greatest racing games ever released and what made it so great was the fact that all of the tracks were like rollercoasters, with such dangerous driving and incredible heights involved it would've killed anyone if it was real life. But this month as a bit of a shock, a coder by the name of Vesuri has released an Amiga version of Stunt Car Racer that's running at a smooth 50/60fps. Something Amiga owners have been wanting for a very long time.
Stunt Car Racer Remake - Fan based PC remake in the works of one of Geoff Crammonds finest games
Stunt Car Racer was one of the best stunt style racers for the Amiga, and one of Geoff Crammonds finest games. Yet what made it so good was not just the feeling of speed, but the thrill of accelerating into the sky and coming back down with an almighty crack, especially if you ended up missing the track altogether such as on the Ski Jump. So you can probably see why I'm just that little bit excited, as a fan by the name of omenoid and ptitSeb, has released a new PC remake of the game. A new version that was originally sourced from D. Vernon and A. Copland's version released back in 2019

ZX Spectrum Retro Review - Stunt Car Racer
Stunt Car Racer is a 3D racing game by Micro Style, released in 1989 on all the main platforms of the time, and as a budget title three years later on the Kixx label. The action takes place on a raised roller-coaster style track, such that had this come attached to a Hot Wheels licence no-one would have been surprised. Your car is delivered by crane to the start line, and your task is to race one on one against a series of competitors - preferably without coming off the track.
