Midwinter - A possible remake?

Another classic game remake could at some point be coming to a system near you. I'm sure many of you will know of the game from which this screenshot came from, yes it's Midwinter. But who will remake such a game? The Indie Developer who has his sights set on Midwinter, is none other than Christopher Jon Wild who was responsible for the brilliant remake of Mike Singleton's classic The Lords of Midnight. But, the project isn't exactly in development just yet....

Christopher Jon Wild has noted that although he has been given the all clear, there is a long road ahead before this project gets under way
"I've spoken with Mike's family and had the 'all clear' there. I've also spoken with Dave Gautrey who was the Maelstrom developer on the original ST and AMIGA version. He is interested in getting involved as a consultant to the project. I've also had early conversations with someone who could help drive the project forward, and help with the hoops required for trying to raise funding."
But what was Midwinter all about that warrants such a remake? Midwinter was a first-person action role-playing game with strategy elements for the Atari ST, Amiga and PC. The landscape was huge, spanning a 160,000-square-mile (410,000 km2) isle of Midwinter. It was also designed by Mike Singleton, the same developer behind the great Lords of Midnight and released in 1989. The game was so successful in many retro magazines that it in 1991 there was a sequel, Midwinter II: Flames of Freedom.

I believe there will be a kickstarter coming with this, especially with what's needed to develop such a remake, however If that happens I'd gladly pledge!
