Defender of the Crown, Cinemaware's classic hit strategy/adventure game, ported over from the Amiga(1986) is now available for all iOS systems. This is an all time favorite of mine and Cinemaware's very first game, even though it did have a multitude of ports. Assume the role of a Saxon (Wilfred of Ivanhoe, Cedric of Rotherwood, Geoffrey Longsword or Wolfric the Wild) and claim the country of England as truly yours.
Amass great armies and fight for control of opponents' castles. Loot or lay siege to opposing castles with great catapults. Territories can also be won in the periodic jousting contests, which I myself have never accomplished. From time to time the player may attempt to rescue a damsel in distress and can appeal for help from the great Robin Hood himself.
