Gar Benjamin is really kicking it up a notch in the retro style as after releasing the enjoyable Atlantic Crisis, he's now gone and released Treasures of Ali-Gar, which is a free PC game inspired by Key-Quest on the VIC-20. Available as an early access game you play as a friendly Wizard on the hunt for mighty treasure in what was once the evil wizard Ali-Gar's castle. Along the way you'll come across menacing forces who are now guarding the treasure and will stop at nothing to do you harm.
I must admit I'm becoming a huge fan of Gar Bejamin's retro inspired games, they are very enjoyable to play and certainly have that nostalgic charm, which comes as no surprise considering Gar's experience in retro gaming -C64 and the like. Treasures of Ali-Gar for example may not have modern graphics, but it certainly keeps pulling you back for more, as your little wizard man blasts his way through the maze like gaming screen as a retro throwback collecting fabulous treasure scattered throughout. What a lovely game indeed, and even in early access it's still worth a play!
