Vegetables - A colorful C64 Match 3 game, written for the RGCD 16k Competition 2019.

We have certainly been flooded with C64 news this week, what with the upcoming Super Mario Bros, Wormwood Preview and Neutron that have recently been announced. But now it looks as if another game is ready to grace our screens, as we've been contacted through our twitter page of the availability of an arcade puzzle game called ' Vegatables ', which has been developed by Mike Richmond for the RGCD 16k Competition 2019!

According to the description, Vegetables is a C64 Match 3 game, written for the RGCD 16k Competition 2019, as the developers first ever C64 Assembly language project, and his first programming project in 25 years. The objective in this additive puzzle release for the C64, is basically to swap adjacent shapes to form lines of three or more in a row, with each successful swap giving you an ever higher score! And that's pretty much a small description of this rather enjoyable game, but for further info including how to remove those annoying immovable blocks please make sure to check out the detailed source page below.

  • Richard Bayliss for creating the 16k Cartridge image for me
  • Antonio Savona for looking at my spider's web of code to try to find why the game hangs on NTSC C64s
