Great news today as thanks to a heads up via XeNoMoRPH we know now the previously released digital download version of the Amstrad game of 'Alcon 2020 ' developed by Abalore, is now available as a 25 FPS Cartridge. For those who haven't heard of this game before, it was originally ported over to the Amstrad as Slap Fight but this version of the game is more like the Arcade and not the 8bit version released in the late 80's... Although even that game was still enjoyable, this one takes it to the next level!
Alcon aka Slap Fight is one of the best 8bit conversions available! Not only is it a ton of fun to play especially on real hardware, but the game has smooth animation, a kick ass soundtrack, levels that look much closer to the Arcade even as an 8bit game, reworked ship design again closer to the Arcade version, and now available as a 25fps cartridge... As the developer says "Chained levels, real Coin-Op features, and 16bit display performance!". So yes certainly a great release for the Amstrad and even more so if you have the hardware to use cartridges.
