Cecconoid - Cybernoid inspired Amiga game gets new footage and it looks super cool!

If you were a gamer back in the late 80's or early 90's, chances are you would've played ' Cybernoid '; a shoot 'em up published in 1987 by Hewson Consultants that is regarded by many as a very challenging, albiet very enjoyable game with fabulous music by Jeroen Tel or Jochen Hippel (ST). Well if you do remember the game and did have a chance to play it, it might be worth keeping an eye on Hoffman's Cybernoid inspired game of 'Cecconoid': A high quality game which is coming to the Amiga early 2023!

As we said before : Cecconoid which was originally released for the PC, Android and IOS back in 2019 by Triple Eh, is an 8-bit inspired, flick-screen, twin-stick-shooter, set in an alternate dimension where the pixels are still chunky, and the bad guys are black and white. The game features many rooms, different power-ups, a high score table, and finally lots of enemy blasting action to keep you busy throughout. So yes if you love Cybernoid, you owe it to yourselves to check out this upcoming Amiga game by Hoffman in early 2023. (That's IF he lets us know when it's actually released).

    1. A person asking that question needs to read the post again.

  2. Who needs another ZX or Atari 2600 game on the Amiga. Make proper 16 bit games.

    2. Then the goalposts will be moved, fanboys without taste will never admit to anything.
If Cybernoid would have come out like this in the late eighties it would be a laughing stock and a prime example of low quality Amiga games.

    3. Quit your whining. I have this game on PC and it's pretty great. It plays very well and the graphics are nicely drawn. You played Minit or Downwell? They're ace games with similar colour counts too and I play those on a PS4 that also runs God of War, Uncharted, Horizon etc. lol. This game clearly isn't aimed at you if you're so repulsed by it. And if that's the case, rather than bitching about it, you could simply ignore it or go and make your own Amiga games and "show us how it's all done". Blimey. I had hoped that elitist attitude was a thing of the past. I loved my Amiga but aye, some of the userbase were right snobs.

    4. These are just some of the more polite comments, had an abuse full lately which I've not allowed.. There's a time and a place for it. I don't want to come across too controlling when allowing comments, but I also don't want to push developers away.... Personally I think the game looks damn fun and I can't wait to play it! - Graphics don't make a game, a good game does!

    5. Yeah, amigans are too conservative sometimes, everything that does not look or sound like an amiga game is shunned down

  5. I think this looks and sounds amazing, quite a bold decision to go with the monotone gfx, but a wise one, this allows for some excellent spot effects, saving precious RAM, along with keeping things nice and smooth.

Also having this level of audio mixing must be CPU intensive, those extra sound channels really make a difference.

    Looking great.

  9. Some of the nicest graphics in a modern amiga game if people saw it in motion. People are crazy.

Is it just me or do anonymous comments seem like a bad idea? Devs have to deal with a lot of nonsense from all angles and it's impossible to recognise people we've run into before or known trolls if they're all posting anonymously. 😅
