CyberPunks 2 is coming 5th May 2023 and it looks very good indeed!

Mutation Software has done rather well over the years, selling a number of copies and digital downloads of their latest game Wiz - Quest for the Magic Lantern; a previously released game that features lovely music, well designed levels and even smooth parallax scrolling. Well fast forward to now and not only can you still purchase the Mutation Gold Compilation, which features updated and remastered versions of Doodlebug, Cyberpunks, Tin Toy, Tommy Gun and Castle Kingdoms for the Amiga CD32. But that same team of Mutation Software has also officially announced the release date of 5th May 2023 for CyberPunks 2 (AGA/CD32).

Cyberpunks was a top down shooter game for the Amiga developed by Mutation and published by Core Design way back in 1993. This new game however, which we were once again informed about through our good friend Tony via the Commodore Amiga Facebook group, is not only the sequel to CyberPunks, but it also features up to 2 player fun, 3 protagonists, multiple levels with high quality detail, addictive gameplay as you battle deadly enemies and big bosses, a cool intro, and plenty of kick ass action to keep you busy throughout. So yes if the game interests you and you want to buy either the big box edition or the upcoming digital download, check it out via the website below.

  8. 3d rendered graphics are not too common on Amiga. It's a 30 year old retro machine ...

    1. In games, yes. In intros, CD32 titles had a bunch of 3d rendered introductions, and they all looked nice. Microcosm, Alien Breed Tower Assault...)

    2. 8bit graphics is 256 colours out of the palette of 16 million (as is the case with AGA graphics), so you could hardly argue it's not sufficient. What you probably meant is that the game itself looks as if it is made for an 8-bit machine, which simply isn't true, as it looks very nice indeed.
