Once again there's another awesome news story that's worth a mention here on Indie Retro News, as thanks to Saberman letting us know through our Indie Retro News Facebook group, we've been told that Jon Eggelton and Gianluca Alberico has officially released the (no paywall) final version of the eagerly awaited game of 'SNK vs CAPCOM'; a new C64 game which was developed using their in development fighting engine known as RetroFighter. To coincide with this HOT news story, Saberman has also done a video showing the game in action.

Yes indeed welcome to a brilliant release for the Commodore 64/128! A release which doesn't include a series of crossover video games by either Capcom or SNK featuring characters that appear in games created by either company(wiki). But basic attacks and throws, special moves and combos, two levels of supermoves, counter attacks and breakers, multiple fighting arenas as a pure nod to the classics, bonus rounds, musics for all the stages, stage selection in versus mode and complete character storylines with intermission and even ending animations. Seriously this is one release you don't want to miss out on your home computer.

INCREDIBILE. Una cosa vorrei dire ad Alberico sperando che legga i commenti, di creare?Tomb Raider inteso come platform/adventure 2D magari commerciale con un ipotetico prezzo di 20€ circa in itchi.io !!

  9. This is beyond awesome. One criticism, though: shouldn't these types of games have horrible, broken English? :)

  14. Ah ah ah Cute and very fun video game but I would call it Mighty SNK vs Capcom, much less realistic than the original... ;)

  17. This game is an absolute masterpiece and one of the best games on the C64. This and Sams Journey have next level presentation not normally found on the system. Not including Sonic as its REU (although still brilliant). I really need to get to some of the criticisms leveled at this game, especially regarding the music. I think theyre toally unjustified. Most C64 games just have one or two tunes and no FX at all. Most Amiga games didnt. This has a ton of tunes all representing the characters stages wonderfully; Mais being my fave. The only bad one is Ryos. But not because of the fault of the musician. If anything he choose to base it on the original too closely. If you listen to Ryos secret stage in Fatal fury special it does this weird going out of key thing and its been replicated here. Onto the positives... what can i say. So many. Multiple backgrounds; the best ive seen on the C64 with tons of animation in them. Multiple characters, with all there moves and animations. The only decent fighter on the system imo. (i know ik is muched loved but its in a completely different style). I do wonder, as someone else has mentioned, that a tiny bit of lag has crept into the game? i do rememver being able to pull out the moves a bit more easily in the demo version.. ill have to go back and check. All in all. A classic and up there in the top 10 for me next to Turrican 1 & 2, Steel Ranger, LN2 and Sams Journey. Awesome, awesome job guys.

  19. The author said it's running in a fps more stable 25fps than the demo versions. But I noticed this lag too
