The Goblin - A fabulous ZX Spectrum platformer with an upbeat soundtrack arrives on the MSX!

Great news MSX owners, as if you're looking to play a very enjoyable game on your home computer, then we have recently been contacted by a good friend of ours through Facebook, that as of today you can play 'The Goblin' by Hicks & Mananuk: A game about a Goblin that must clear areas of enemies by drinking beer and belching on them! Now if you remember this game from last year, that's because it was released for the ZX Spectrum by Hicks, and is still regarded as a fabulous speccy game with an upbeat soundtrack.

While a more in depth write up can be found via the MSX link below, here is what was was said about the game from the MSXdev'23 competition page. "With great pleasure we can present to you – the 22nd entry to this ever-going contest! The Goblin is a brisk, fast paced arcade-style platformer running on classic MSX1 systems, which first saw life on the ZX Spectrum. In the vein of the classic Bubble Bobble, the player is confined to one screen where the action takes place, in which you’ll have to immobilize the enemies first, in order to dispatch of them. Naturally, there are game elements such as a time limit, differentiating enemy movement patterns, and elaborate platforming mechanics in place".
