One of my favourite Amstrad games ' Oh Mummy! ' has appeared again, but not as a HD remake but this time the game has been enhanced for the Amstrad CPC. Oh Mummy! in my opinion was and still is one of the best games on the Amstrad from 1984 and published by none other than Amsoft, a well known publisher for the Amstrad computer. So you can see why I'm just that little bit excited to try out this new enhancement/remaster which has been released by Chris Perver.
Hopefully they put the original music in, as it sounds way worse here!
And here's the latest "Oh Mummy was created by a company called Gem Software in 1984. Programmed by Daren White and John Line, it was published by Amsoft, and bundled free with the Amstrad launch pack. Its simple concept and addictive gameplay made it easily accessible for any age group, giving it an enduring appeal that spans generations. But its reliance on the keyboard for menu control has restricted its availability to the classic Amstrad range. By disassembling the original game, I hope to be able to release an updated edition that will work on the GX4000, and bring this classic game to the Plus platform".
Features :
- Redefinable keys
- Joystick enabled menu and scoreboard controls for GX4000
- Multicoloured hardware sprites
- Open-plan pyramids for the player to explore
- Cartridge version, floppy disc and cassette version
- Physical cartridge edition to follow

For a while it seemed to me that the game was about zombies ^.^
ReplyDeleteThe music could do with a revamp. However, the game
ReplyDeletelooks great. Good effort
