Ramizes - Tutankham inspiration and winner of ROMA.EXE 2026 demo'd for the Amiga [UPDATE]

While the latest news will be slower this week due to an extreme heatwave, I'm still pleased to write up that the playable demo called "Ramizes" by programmer Pawel Tukatsch, widely known in the community as tukinem, has made an appearance and can be downloaded below. While I haven't yet played the game and will do so soon, this nostalgic production conquered the ROMA.EXE 2026 game competition, securing its spot among the most notable retro titles of the year.

"Ramizes" serves as a direct, loving tribute to Konami’s iconic 1982 arcade classic, Tutankham. The newly released demo transports players back to the golden era of maze-crawling, action-adventure gameplay, optimized entirely for vintage Commodore hardware.

The Team :

The game's success relies heavily on a talented production squad. The full development credits include:

  • Coding & Core Design: Pawel Tukatsch (tukinem)
  • Menu Audio & Sound Effects: Marcin Bialobrzewski (Eightbm)
  • In-Game Soundtrack: Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki (Bartesek)
  • Visual Assets & Graphics: Tomasz Mielnik (Carrion, known for his work with c64portal.pl)
Minimum Technical Requirements :

True to the spirit of old-school demoscene engineering, the developers built "Ramizes" to run on highly modest, classic specifications:
  • Processor: Motorola 68000 running at 7 MHz
  • Graphics Chipset: Original Chipset (OCS) — PAL region displays only
  • Operating System: AmigaOS 1.2 or higher
  • Memory Configuration: Requires 512 kB of free Chip RAM combined with either 512 kB of free Slow RAM or a flat 1 MB setup of total Chip RAM.
[UPDATE] While this demo is almost perfect, the developer has found a few issues with the game and released an update. Here's the latest " I've fixed a bug when the game sometimes shuts down, fixed redrawing lives on the HUD after a new game, and finally I've added a pause option by pressing P.

  2. Ha! It's Tutankham with a European Amiga glow up! I love it. So perfect. I dig the near arcade perfection of JOTD's straight ports, but really, BITD, this is the kind of thing you would have gotten on the Amiga. Like Mega Phoenix, or Deluxe Galaga.

  5. Will this game work on OCS Amiga, like Amiga 500 kickstart 1.3 on a 68000 CPU?
