Lemmings Mega Edition v2.0 Final - Brand new levels never seen or played before via the Sega Master System

It's time we look towards The Sega Master System for a decent update, as there has been a surprise release of Lemmings Mega Edition version 2.0 final. Developed by the prominent romhacker behind Alex Kidd In Miracle World Extended Edition, this massive fan-made project expands the original 8-bit game into a rather epic console release. The creator returned to the SMSPower community after a two-year hiatus to unveil the culmination of an intense eight-week development cycle injecting a whopping 120 brand-new stages into the game, doubling the original count to a staggering 240 levels.

This expansion allows the Master System version to eclipse its 16-bit rivals. By comparison, the Sega Mega Drive version only features 180 stages, making this new 8-bit iteration the largest standard console port of the classic puzzle game in existence. Players booting up the game will find a faithful introduction. The first four classic difficulty ratings remain completely intact, preserving the nostalgia of the original release save for a few minor text and typo corrections. The real expansion begins after navigating the base game, where four entirely new difficulty tiers unlock such as Smooth, Funky, Jazzy and Heavy.

  • A very skilled member of the community by the name of ''Squidgy'' dropped an amazing SMS Lemmings level editor onto the community which is how he made the ROM hack. So all thanks goes to Squidgy, without him this wouldn't be possible.
