Mega M.I.L.V. - Bullet hell Amiga shooter by GoldenCode gets new gameplay footage

Amiga developer Daytona675x has released a new work-in-progress video showcasing an impressive "bullet hell" shooter running smoothly on a stock Amiga 1200 computer. The technical demonstration reveals a simultaneous two-player mode capable of handling hundreds of on-screen projectiles at a crisp 304 x 256 resolution running at PAL 50 Hz. Behind the scenes, the development utilizes Frank Wille’s music player and Bartman^Abyss’s VSCode development system, backed by an active team consisting of audio designer Triace, graphic artists Matt Walkden, Pieterator, Crome, and Tom, alongside a dedicated playtesting crew.

This eleventh development update highlights significant progress, including extensive bug fixes, performance optimizations, and general gameplay improvements powered by advanced IRQ-based blitting. In terms of content, the game's first level is now mostly complete, while levels two and three are roughly halfway through development. The project continues to push the boundaries of Amiga hardware, promising a high-octane experience for the classic Amiga community as production moves forward.
