Baby Escapes From Mushroom Manor - Guide Baby on his adventures through mushroom manor on the C64

Looking through the CSdb database and I found out there's been a new Commodore 64 game called Baby Escapes from Mushroom Manor, a charming new platform-puzzle-adventure by NinjaConor. The game follows the high-stakes breakout of Baby, an infant who has grown thoroughly bored of his surroundings after just three weeks of life. Seeking the thrill of the open road and ultimate freedom, players must guide the adventurous toddler through a labyrinthine estate to locate an escape vehicle. However, making a clean getaway requires more than just finding the keys; you will need to scavenge for enough fuel to fill the tank while hunting down 30 hidden coins to fund Baby's upcoming life on the lam.

Channelling the nostalgic spirit of 8-bit classics like Dizzy, Seymour, and Murray Mouse, the title delivers a challenging blend of environmental puzzles and retro survival. Navigating the manor is far from a walk in the park however, as players must outsmart a bizarre gauntlet of domestic and wild adversaries, including pesky moths, aggressive dogs, and even endangered condors. The game utilizes classic single-joystick controls plugged exclusively into port 2, where a quick press of the fire button brings up an inventory menu to manage, collect, or deploy items. It is a wonderfully quirky addition to the C64’s enduring modern library that homebrew fans will definitely want to check out if they loved games like Dizzy.
