A new game for the Commodore Amiga 500 with the release of Flieger Minigolf. Developed by Fliegeralarm Games, this charming title brings an isometric perspective to the world of miniature golf, fully compatible with OCS and ECS hardware. Players get to pick their favourite bird character, carefully calculate their angles, and aim for the perfect putt across three AI crafted courses. Rather than being confined to a single view, each hole is designed as a sprawling floating island that smoothly scrolls beyond the boundaries of the screen.
The game has environmental hazards to test your skills, challenging players to navigate everything from wooden barriers and sand traps to tricky water hazards, steep slopes, and sudden gusts of wind. To keep players on their toes, many of the obstacles features dynamic moving parts. Flieger Minigolf supports a traditional "hot-seat" multiplayer mode where up to four friends and family members can pass the joystick around to compete. For those who prefer solo play, the game also offers a single-player mode designed for chasing down personal best scores and mastering every fairway.

Moving on to the second AI game by Fliegeralarm Games, with the in-development game of Fliegeralarms Wintergames AGA created for the AmiGameJam 9 competition. A game according to the creator that renders all the winter action in a striking palette of 256 colours, complete with painted backdrops and dynamic copper graphics effects. Supporting English and German language options, it delivers a multiplayer experience where up to four players can pass around a single joystick in a traditional hot-seat layout to climb the national medal tables.
In the Ski Jump event, players must master the in-run, perfectly gauge their angle against the wind, and stick a clean telemark landing under the watchful eyes of three style judges. The Bobsleigh mode drops players right into the pilot's seat for a fast first-person dash down a treacherous ice channel, requiring aggressive cornering while risking an over-the-lip crash. Biathlon pits your precision against an elevated heart rate as you navigate a shifting parallax snowy landscape before entering the shooting range, while the pseudo-3D Downhill and Slalom events challenge you to tuck through high-speed gates against a penalty clock. Complete with custom-sampled audio effects utilizing the Amiga's iconic Paula chip—including crowds, clanging cowbells, and the sound of skis carving through powder.

Very technically impressive. The Ski Jump background is some of the most beautiful art I've seen on the Amiga, crazy that it's AI generated. And it all scrolls at 50 fps, amazing. Have to play more later but Biathlon is probably my favourite so far, nice work! <- Lates feedback!
Graphically doesn't seem that bad from my perspective, but audio seems repetitive and gltichy?
ReplyDeleteWith the golf game, curious as to whether the graphics were AI - the course design is mentioned but the actual game graphics? Just interested to know! Game looks fun.
