Mega Darkula - A high quality Amstrad and PC game is coming to the Sega Mega Drive (+Demo)

Fancy playing a rather enjoyable Arcade game for your Sega Mega Drive, then come and check out the demo of the upcoming game called Mega Darkula by Playonretro. Adapted from Locomalito's original title, the game tells the story of Darkula, a vampire fed up with the bright, dazzling lights of Deviland Park—an amusement park built by legendary monsters where the darkness has sadly faded away. Lacking any combat abilities, players must rely on precise movement, careful timing, and smart route planning to run, jump, and climb ladders to unscrew every light bulb on the stage while dodging hazards.

The project brings together a creative team to make the game feel right at home on SEGA's iconic Sega Mega Drive. This dedicated version features lovely 16-bit graphics reimagined by Richard Fhager (Downbringer), smooth coding for the console by Moonwatcher, and an authentic chiptune soundtrack by original composer Gryzor87. Built with the "easy to learn, difficult to master" philosophy, the hopefully addictive adventure offers plenty of depth for high-score chasers. The current build packs six main stages, two bonus levels, and a punishing second loop for anyone skilled enough to survive the initial run and bring true darkness back to the park.
