Kizuna - Another monochrome game appears and this time for the ZX Spectrum by Xeif

A new monochrome platformer has sliced its way onto the ZX Spectrum, courtesy of developer Keif. Titled as 'Kizuna', this stylized black-and-white release frames its story through the lens of a classic comic book, using expressive pixel art to transform each game screen into a comic panel. The story follows the ninja Hanzo on a high-stakes mission to escort a young girl named Hana through a treacherous world cloaked in shadow. Rather than relying solely on mindless combat, the game challenges players with varied gameplay scenarios and obstacles that require patience, and clever problem-solving to overcome.

According to the website at the heart of the game is the evolving relationship between the two main characters, shifting from protection into a profound, fated connection. Hanzo and Hana must actively cooperate to survive the relentless gauntlet of enemies and environmental hazards blocking their path. Kizuna ultimately promises a journey where a sharp sword isn't enough to solve every crisis, proving instead that the emotional bond forged between two souls can be the ultimate tool for survival—and the most difficult thing to break.
