Well this is fantastic news for the weekend, as homebrew developer AnthonyFlack has launched Bomb Jack GX, an incredible new arcade port specifically enhanced for the Amstrad CPC Plus and GX4000 console. This fresh release streamlines the experience compared to its predecessor, Bomb Jack Extra Sugar, by stripping away the lesser-used extra modes in favor of a pure, focused recreation of the original arcade classic. By targeting the unique hardware capabilities of the Amstrad Plus line and the GX4000, the game delivers massive technical improvements over standard CPC versions with rich visuals, fluid performance persistent highscores!

Amstrad GX4000 owners might like this latest news story that's just been sent to us by Saberman, as if you're looking for a new Shoot em up to play, then Zisquier has you covered with his brand new Amstrad Plus and GX4000 game called 'Goldorak'; a new game which is a nod to the classic anime of Grendizer; a TV anime series produced by Dynamic Productions and animated by Toei Animation airing October 5, 1975 to February 27,1977. In light of this news, Saberman has also done a new video of the game in action .

Then you may just enjoy Cwiiis's latest Amstrad Plus and GX4000 game of 'Oh Chute! A highly entertaining Arcade game in which you need to parachute and land without being hit by the helicopters. The 1980's Game and Watch Handheld throw backs just keep on coming, as we've recently been informed by our good friend XeNoMoRPH, that the previously released Amstrad CPC+ and GX4000 game of 'Octopus' by AYOR61 and team, has been improved with a fantastic intro, soundtrack and so so much more! To coincide with this news, both Saberman and XeNoMoRPH have provided a video, giving us a glimpse of this 1981 Game and Watch title for the Amstrad and GX4000.

Ghosts 'n Goblins - Overhaul in development for the Amstrad Plus gets a new tease
The Amstrad has really set the bar high for 8bit developed games this year, with incredible releases such as AMSTRED, Cosmic Gatlin', Wrecking Ball, and Wireware. But here's one game that I think that will really impress the Amstrad community as a complete overhaul, is the upcoming Amstrad Plus version of Ghosts 'n Goblins'; a soon to be released high quality version of GNG developed by Mathieu Delaruelle aka Hwikaa, Julien Riet aka Ixien and Golem 13.

I was a bit late on this one as I'm still recovering from a stomach and kidney infection, but if you're looking to play a rather decent looking game on your Amstrad, then you might like to know as thanks to a heads up from XeNoMoRPH, that Ćdouard BERGĆ has recently teased a high quality Amstrad game called 'Bubble Quest'; A game in which you must guide your bubble around a maze like screen while avoiding everything that is deadly to reach the exit. Sound easy though? Probably Not!

The Amstrad more especially the plus range including the GX4000, is really starting to impress especially with the Shadow of the Beast demo shown off on the Amstrad CPC Plus in 2017 and the incredible Pinball Dreams on the CPC range which was released just recently. But today's update is once again showing us just how good the Amstrad is. As thanks to a heads up by Golem13 he has shown us the latest screenshots for the Ghosts 'N Goblins overhaul that is coming to an Amstrad near you next month that is being coded by Golem13, Graphics by Winner and Sound/FX by Ixien!
Vespertino - A Racing Simulator that will crown the Amstrad CPC as the best 8-bit platform?
If you thought Super Mario Brothers on the C64 was going to be the only highlight this year, then prepare for a shock. As we've just been tweeted via @BATMAN_GROUP that they are working on a racing game called 'Vespertino'; a game they claim will crown the Amstrad CPC as the best 8-bit platform! Yes indeed from the same team who is working on the amazing Amiga to Amstrad CPC port of Pinball Dreams and through 28 years of productions for several productions, comes a new game that will apparently eclipse them all!
Pentomino - Amstrad CPC puzzler with a great soundtrack gets an Easter release
I hope you're all having a fantastic Easter so far, as it's now about to get so much better especially if you have an Amstrad, as Shining has announced the release of Pentomino for the Amstrad CPC, Amstrad Plus and also on the GX4000. Looking like a cross between Tetris and Loopz, this game was developed by HAL6128 (GFX) and Shining (code) and is a puzzle-game where you have to solve 464 different puzzles, split into multiple parts!

A bit of a late hour this one, but one we couldn't miss, as Shining has just moments ago teased a brand new Amstrad game called ' Pentomino ', which is coming to an Amstrad CPC, Plus and GX4000 by the end of this week. This game took us completely by surprise as we didn't even know it was being developed, but from the look of it, it looks like a cross between Tetris and Loopz and will feature very high quality music!

It's been a big 18 months for the Amstrad community. Not only have we been treated to a plethora of great games, emulator updates and hardware mods; the much fabled GX4000 got it's own bit of retro-loving in the form of a flashcart, the C4CPC. Many 8 bit fans already to know of this, so here I take a look at this really neat bit of kit, show you the ropes (Roland style of course) and even take a look at the 3D printed case you can create for it. One of the must-own modifications for Amstrad fans in Novabug's book.
