I'm sure you'll agree with me there are some very good OpenBOR games out there, taking the best of well known characters from fighting anime's and movies and putting them against deadly foes in the latest fan based games. But today we have a special treat for those of you who grew up through the 80's, as ZVitor has released the Dungeons and Dragons Animated Series (Fan Game): A direct homage to Capcom's classic D&D Arcades such as "King of Dragons" and one of the best Cartoon TV shows which ran from 1983 through to 1985.

Dragon’s Lair: The Movie - An incredible game classic aims for an animated movie Kickstarter success!

Originally released in 1983 was an epic laserdisc video game that many people still remember today, and that game was Dragon's Lair, which was originally published by Cinematronics. It was so special, in the fact that not only was it a game, but it allowed you to play in an interactive experience in a cartoon animation. You didn't just watch a cartoon, you played it! What would be a simple of task of selecting the right actions at the right time, was usually met with certain cartoon death. But today's news is a very special Kickstarter announcement, as Don Bluth and Gary Goldman are coming together once again to bring the classic arcade game Dragon's Lair to the big screen.

More incredible Dizzy artwork from PIT

Who doesn't love that lovable little egg of Dizzy? He's always on a fantastic adventure solving many puzzles while trying to avoid having his egg cracked by the evil Wizard Zaks. So it comes as no surprise to us that there are many fans out there who like to imagine him on another quest, but rather through a game is done with artwork. And when it comes to artwork our favourite artist just has to be Pit, who we've featured before has once again pushed his skills to the limit and done more highly detailed cartoon like drawings, that earns it's place on our site.

Simpsons Pixels - The hit TV series goes all pixelated!

Everyone I'm sure has watched the brilliant TV series of 'The Simpsons'. But what if I told you there was a fantastic pixelated version of the classy intro that's just appeared. Well here it is, Simpsons Pixels. A Pixel tribute to the hit series "The Simpsons." directed and animated by Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon. Music by Jeremy Dower.  What is as, as far as I'm concerned, one of the best remakes we've seen and one that would look good even if it actually appeared on TV!

SuperTed - A new shooter appears on the Amiga!

Only just recently we featured a text based adventure of DangerMouse and I mentioned the reference to classic based cartoon TV shows such as Bananaman and SuperTed. Well funnily enough today appears an arcade shooter for the Amiga from that very classic TV show that stars SuperTed himself. Although this is a fan made side scroller shooter made by Mikael Persson using Backbone, it was only developed in just three weeks. SuperTed(Amiga) features decent enough graphics with cameos from Lemmings and other Amiga based characters that must be avoided or shot at.

Simpsons Treehouse of horror - Excellent free Beat em up based on a hit classic!

Originally released in 1991, The Simpsons Arcade game which was based on the original cartoon series featured non stop beat em up action with all your favourite characters. It was such a great game that many hours were spent throwing away the coins oblivious to the ticking clock behind you. Each character had set moves and personalities fitting perfectly with the cartoon. Bart had his skateboard and Marge had her hoover, you could even combine the two characters together all in the aim to get Maggie back from Mr Burns. It wasn't an easy game and having up four players really helped, especially with the amount of bad guys that you needed to beat up. Well fast forward to now and we have a special treat to show you in the form of Simpsons Treehouse of horror, which is a brand new game using the OpenBor engine that you just have to play!
